We’re pleased to announce that LCC has formally partnered with Neil Gresham, after a long period of unofficial partnership and co-operation.

A regular at the three Lakeland Climbing Centres and a frequent visitor of the London Climbing Centres, Neil is one of the UK’s most prolific climbers, putting up and sending some of the hardest routes around across a number of climbing disciplines.

The partnership sees Neil become LCC’s Setting Team coach, helping those who work at the forefront of our business maximise their own potential.

Alongside that, expect a number of brilliant coaching masterclasses throughout the year, coming to a gym near you, and the chance to catch Neil at some of our major events.

Meet Neil Gresham

Neil Gresham is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading voices in performance coaching for climbing.

He has been coaching and writing regular training articles for national magazines since 1993 and has pioneered many of the methods that are used widely by coaches today.

He has authored a book on training (How to Climb – Training, published by Rock & Ice in 2017) and co-authored a further three books.

Neil has delivered coaching courses and seminars all over the world, and has helped hundreds of climbers of all ages and ability levels to raise their game.

When coaching, he draws heavily on his vast bank of climbing experience, having put up hard new routes in a variety of styles in over fifteen different countries.

Neil has climbed 8c+ in his late 40s and E11 trad and WI 9 on ice in his early 50s. He puts all his successes down to hard work, motivation, and refinement of his game.

Neil believes that work and family commitments don’t need to limit our climbing goals provided we are focused and make the best possible use of our training time.
